Fuel grade cost comparison
Compare fuel grades using your own price and consumption assumptions for the same trip.
Compare cost for the same entered distance using a separate consumption assumption for each grade. Guided inputs use the same ranges as CSV: price 0 to 10000 per litre, consumption 0.001 to 1000 L/100 km. Results include cost difference and break-even price against the first grade. No fuel-economy benefit is inferred from octane. Only compare fuels that meet the vehicle manufacturer requirements; cost does not establish suitability. Processing stays on your device in a cancellable worker with a 10-second timeout. Maximum 500000 combined input characters and 2000 records, with 30 tariffs or grades, 30 tiers per tariff and 100 depreciation years. Guided decimals allow up to six places without thousands separators. Full JSON and JSON Pointer CSV include all source inputs, units, assumptions and results; each file is capped at 2000000 characters and CSV at 200000 leaf records. All tariff totals precede the first 200 detail rows in the parking preview; other tables preview 200 rows. Software bounds are not vehicle capability claims. Results use floating-point arithmetic. Up to 500,000 characters. Review the settings before running.

How to use Fuel grade cost comparison
- Enter trip distance, currency and the price and L/100 km consumption for two grades.
- For more grades, choose CSV mode and enter 2 to 30 uniquely named options.
- Compare total costs and break-even prices against the first grade. Download the complete report.
Useful next steps
Compare cost using separate consumption assumptions
For each grade, litres used equal distance in km times L/100 km divided by 100. Total cost multiplies those litres by price per litre. Each grade uses its own entered consumption; the tool does not infer an efficiency benefit from octane.
Read the break-even price
The break-even price per litre is the first grade cost per 100 km divided by the comparison grade consumption in L/100 km. It is a modeled cost threshold, not a suitability recommendation. Compare only fuels that meet the vehicle manufacturer requirements.
