Crochet stitch calculator
Fit complete crochet repeats to a target width using your swatch gauge, repeat size and non-repeat stitches.
At least one complete repeat; at most 1,000,000 total stitches. Round down fails when even one repeat plus the extra stitches cannot fit the target. Change the input or settings to update your result. Results update as you type. Up to 1,000,000 characters.

Useful next steps
Separate repeats from extra stitches
Enter the stitch count and width of a measured swatch. Then enter the number of stitches in one complete pattern repeat and the total extra stitches outside the repeats. Turning chains depend on your pattern and are not inferred.
Compare the rounded width
At 20 stitches per 10 cm, a 50 cm target would need 100 stitches. For repeats of eight plus two extra stitches, nearest gives 12 repeats and 98 total stitches, producing 49 cm. Round up gives 13 repeats, 106 stitches and 53 cm.
Save the calculation
Download a CSV of the results or instructions, a readable text report and a JSON report with values, formulas and assumptions. Calculations run locally on your device. Unit changes keep the numbers already entered, so check the selected units before using the result.
