Brine concentration calculator
Calculate salt from water weight, keeping salt-to-water and salt-to-total-solution percentages clearly separate.
Water must be positive. Total-solution targets must be below 100%; water-basis targets can reach 100%. Volumes and spoon measures are not used. Change the input or settings to update your result. Results update as you type. Up to 1,000,000 characters.

How to use Brine concentration calculator
- Enter the measurements and assumptions for this recipe or plan.
- Review the calculated quantities and their stated basis.
- Download the report and verify it against your measured result.
Useful next steps
Choose the denominator
Three percent of 1,000 g water is 30 g salt. A 3% total solution made from 1,000 g water needs about 30.93 g salt, because the salt is part of the denominator.
Measure an existing mixture
Enter salt and water weights to see both percentages. The output is a two-component mass balance, not a validated recipe for curing, fermentation or food preservation.
