Choose between page editing, text extraction and conversion
PDF tools serve different purposes. Page operations reorganize a document; rendering makes an image of a page; text extraction reads the document text layer. A scanned page may look readable while containing only an image, so it needs OCR before ordinary text extraction can help.

Check page order, orientation, margins and whether text is selectable. Review a sample of the exported pages before sharing the whole document.
Common questions about pdf tools
Why can a PDF look correct but produce scrambled text?
A page can position text visually without encoding its logical reading order. Columns, tables and individually positioned characters complicate extraction. Review the result, especially when it will feed a translation or summary.
Will compressing a PDF always make it smaller?
No. A document may already use efficient compression. Reducing embedded image resolution can save space but also reduce detail, so compare the output at the size where it will be read.
