## Tool capabilities

| Property | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Tool ID | `svg-to-jpg` |
| Category | image-tools |
| Implementation | Registered implementation. Registration alone is not a production-quality guarantee. |
| Browser execution | Use the visible action or interactive controls. |
| Browser processing | Browser; see tool notes for network behavior. |
| HTTP API | Not callable through HTTP. |
| Browser-agent interface | run_current_tool |

### Implementation notes

Converts a self-contained SVG to a static JPEG. Scripts, embedded HTML and external resources are rejected. Transparency is flattened against your chosen background. Source dimensions or viewBox set the aspect ratio.

### Inputs and settings

No free-text input is required. Use the file inputs and/or settings below.

Accepted browser files: `.svg,image/svg+xml`. Choose one file.

Browser file-input limit: 10000000 bytes in total. HTTP limits can differ.

| Setting | Meaning | Control type | Default | Constraints |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `width` | Output width (px, 0 = source) | number | 0 | min=0 max=8192 step=1 |
| `quality` | JPEG quality (%) | number | 85 | min=1 max=100 step=1 |
| `background` | Background color | color | "#ffffff" | |

### Browser-agent workflow

1. Open the human page in a browser that supports WebMCP.
2. Discover the interface exposed by that page; use its actual schema.
3. Select files on the page first when the tool requires files.
4. Call `run_current_tool` with valid input and settings.
5. Inspect the returned result or error and the displayed output. Retrieve files from the displayed download links.

Calls do not automatically copy or download results. Browser permissions still apply. Interface availability alone is not proof of successful execution.

### Planning specification

JPEG is a raster format and does not retain transparency or editable vector paths. Scripts, embedded HTML, external fonts and other external resources are rejected. Text rendering depends on available fonts; outlined lettering is more predictable.

This describes intended requirements. Use the implementation notes, interface schema and observed output to determine current support.

## How to use it

Choose a self-contained SVG, set an optional output width, choose JPEG quality and pick a background color. A width of zero uses the source dimensions.

### A worked example

A 200 × 100 SVG exported at 400 pixels wide becomes a 400 × 200 JPG. Transparent areas become your chosen background color.

### What to know

JPEG is a raster format and does not retain transparency or editable vector paths. Scripts, embedded HTML, external fonts and other external resources are rejected. Text rendering depends on available fonts; outlined lettering is more predictable.
