### Browser-agent workflow

1. Open the human page in a browser that supports WebMCP.
2. Discover the interface exposed by that page; use its actual schema.
3. Select files on the page first when the tool requires files.
4. Call `run_current_tool` with valid input and settings.
5. Inspect the returned result or error and the displayed output. Retrieve files from the displayed download links.

Calls do not automatically copy or download results. Browser permissions still apply. Interface availability alone is not proof of successful execution.

### Planning specification

Up to 10,000 drips a minute at 0.01 to 10 mL per drip, or up to 1,000 L collected in 1 second to 7 days; 1 to 3,650 days; prices from 0 to 100,000 per selected volume. Calculated on your device; download a JSON report and a CSV of results.

This describes intended requirements. Use the implementation notes, interface schema and observed output to determine current support.

### How to use Water leak cost calculator

1. Count drips per minute, or time how long the leak takes to fill a container.
2. Enter the days until the leak is fixed.
3. Enter your water and wastewater prices and the volume they are charged per.
4. Review the water lost and the cost, then download the report or CSV.

## Measure the leak

Count drips for one minute, or catch the leak in a measuring jug and time it. A timed container gives a more reliable rate because drip size varies. The USGS Water Science School uses 0.25 mL for a kitchen faucet drip (checked 16 October 2026), so 60 drips a minute is 15 mL a minute, or 21.6 litres a day.

### From rate to cost

The daily volume is scaled to a 365-day year and a month of one twelfth of a year. Cost multiplies the volume by your water and wastewater prices, divided by the volume they apply to, such as per cubic metre or per 1,000 US gallons. Money is rounded to 2 decimals.

### Limits

The leak rate is assumed constant. Fixed charges, tiered prices and taxes are not included. Unit conversions use NIST SP 811 factors.
