## Tool capabilities

| Property | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Tool ID | `net-promoter-score-calculator` |
| Category | calculators |
| Implementation | Registered implementation. Registration alone is not a production-quality guarantee. |
| Browser execution | Use the visible action or interactive controls. |
| Browser processing | Browser; see tool notes for network behavior. |
| HTTP API | Not callable through HTTP. |
| Browser-agent interface | run_current_tool |

### Implementation notes

Use scores from 0 to 10. Promoters score 9 or 10, passives 7 or 8, and detractors 0 to 6. NPS is the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors, on a scale from -100 to 100. Results describe the supplied sample, not all customers. No benchmark or statistical significance is inferred. Processing stays on your device.

### Inputs and settings

Text input: Survey scores or score counts.

Example or placeholder shown in the interface (not a validated fixture):

```text
0 6 7 8 9 10 10
```

Enter whole-number scores. For counted data choose Score counts (CSV) and use the score,count headers. Up to 1,000,000 characters. Review the settings before running.

| Setting | Meaning | Control type | Default | Constraints |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `format` | Input format | select | "responses" | Allowed: responses, counts |

### Browser-agent workflow

1. Open the human page in a browser that supports WebMCP.
2. Discover the interface exposed by that page; use its actual schema.
3. Select files on the page first when the tool requires files.
4. Call `run_current_tool` with valid input and settings.
5. Inspect the returned result or error and the displayed output. Retrieve files from the displayed download links.

Calls do not automatically copy or download results. Browser permissions still apply. Interface availability alone is not proof of successful execution.

### Planning specification

Use scores from 0 to 10. Paste up to 100,000 individual scores or a CSV with score,count headers and one row per score. Counts must be nonnegative integers, with no more than 1,000,000,000 responses in total. Input is limited to 1,000,000 characters. The result describes the supplied sample, not all customers, and does not establish statistical significance. Processing stays on your device.

This describes intended requirements. Use the implementation notes, interface schema and observed output to determine current support.

### How to use Net Promoter Score calculator

1. Paste survey scores, separated by spaces, commas, semicolons or new lines.
2. Choose individual responses or a score,count CSV distribution. Calculate the result.
3. Check the score and group counts, then download the JSON report or distribution CSV.

## How NPS is calculated

Responses of 9 and 10 are promoters, 7 and 8 are passives, and 0 through 6 are detractors. NPS is the promoter percentage minus the detractor percentage. Passives count in the denominator, so the score ranges from -100 to 100.

### See the counts behind the score

A score alone hides sample size. The report includes every score count and the promoter, passive and detractor totals. Duplicate score rows are rejected instead of silently adding the same counts twice.

### Keep comparisons meaningful

Compare results only when the question, audience and collection method are comparable. This calculator does not infer statistical significance, choose a good-score benchmark or predict customer growth.
