## Tool capabilities

| Property | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Tool ID | `ingredient-density-converter` |
| Category | calculators |
| Implementation | Registered implementation. Registration alone is not a production-quality guarantee. |
| Browser execution | Automatic updates after valid input or file selection. |
| Browser processing | Browser; see tool notes for network behavior. |
| HTTP API | Not callable through HTTP. |
| Browser-agent interface | run_current_tool |

### Implementation notes

Enter a measured bulk density for the ingredient in its actual packed state. This is not a density lookup; the starting density is only an editable example. Calculated on your device. Changing units keeps the entered numbers.

### Inputs and settings

No free-text input is required. Use the file inputs and/or settings below.

| Setting | Meaning | Control type | Default | Constraints |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `mode` | Convert | select | "Mass to volume" | Allowed: Mass to volume, Volume to mass |
| `label` | Ingredient and measurement assumption | text | "Measured ingredient sample" | |
| `density` | Measured density (g/mL) | number | 0.5 | min=1e-06 max=100 step=any |
| `amount` | Quantity to convert | number | 100 | min=0 max=100000000 step=any |
| `massUnit` | Mass unit | select | "g" | Allowed: g, kg, oz, lb |
| `volumeUnit` | Volume unit | select | "US cup" | Allowed: mL, L, US cup, metric cup (250 mL), US tbsp, metric tbsp (15 mL), US tsp, US fl oz, Imp fl oz |

### Browser-agent workflow

1. Open the human page in a browser that supports WebMCP.
2. Discover the interface exposed by that page; use its actual schema.
3. Select files on the page first when the tool requires files.
4. Call `run_current_tool` with valid input and settings.
5. Inspect the returned result or error and the displayed output. Retrieve files from the displayed download links.

Calls do not automatically copy or download results. Browser permissions still apply. Interface availability alone is not proof of successful execution.

### Planning specification

Positive density up to 100 g/mL and a label up to 80 characters. Uses entered bulk density without a lookup or hidden water-density assumption.

This describes intended requirements. Use the implementation notes, interface schema and observed output to determine current support.

### How to use Ingredient density converter

1. Enter the measurements and assumptions for this recipe or plan.
2. Review the calculated quantities and their stated basis.
3. Download the report and verify it against your measured result.

## Name the assumption

Give your density a useful label, such as the ingredient and how it was packed. The starting 0.5 g/mL is an editable example, not a verified ingredient database.

### Keep cup definitions explicit

US cups and 250 mL metric cups are separate. Packing, moisture and particle size can change bulk density, so the same ingredient name does not guarantee the same grams per cup.

### Save the result

Download CSV and a text or JSON report with the calculation and its assumptions. Processing stays on your device. Check measurements and selected units before using the result.
