## Tool capabilities

| Property | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Tool ID | `customer-acquisition-cost-calculator` |
| Category | calculators |
| Implementation | Registered implementation. Registration alone is not a production-quality guarantee. |
| Browser execution | Use the visible action or interactive controls. |
| Browser processing | Browser; see tool notes for network behavior. |
| HTTP API | Not callable through HTTP. |
| Browser-agent interface | run_current_tool |

### Implementation notes

Use values for the same period and opening customer group. Enter amounts using a decimal point or your language’s decimal separator, without a currency symbol or thousands separators. Currency is a label, not a conversion. Results use the supplied assumptions and round ratios to six decimal places. Processing stays on your device.

### Inputs and settings

No free-text input is required. Use the file inputs and/or settings below.

| Setting | Meaning | Control type | Default | Constraints |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `sales` | Sales acquisition costs | text | "1200" | |
| `marketing` | Marketing acquisition costs | text | "2400" | |
| `newCustomers` | New customers acquired | number | 100 | min=1 max=1000000000 step=1 |
| `currency` | Currency code | text | "USD" | |

### Browser-agent workflow

1. Open the human page in a browser that supports WebMCP.
2. Discover the interface exposed by that page; use its actual schema.
3. Select files on the page first when the tool requires files.
4. Call `run_current_tool` with valid input and settings.
5. Inspect the returned result or error and the displayed output. Retrieve files from the displayed download links.

Calls do not automatically copy or download results. Browser permissions still apply. Interface availability alone is not proof of successful execution.

### Planning specification

Enter amounts in one currency with a decimal point and at most six decimal places. Each input amount may be up to 1,000,000,000,000. Counts are whole numbers up to 1,000,000,000. Results use the supplied inputs and assumptions.

This describes intended requirements. Use the implementation notes, interface schema and observed output to determine current support.

1. Enter acquisition-related sales and marketing costs for one period.
2. Enter the new customers attributable to that spending and choose the currency label.
3. Calculate cost per acquired customer and download the inputs, result and assumptions.

## Keep spending and customers aligned

CAC divides acquisition-related sales and marketing spending by new customers. Include the cost categories your definition requires, such as salaries, commissions, agencies, advertising and tools. A long sales cycle can make same-month spending and customer counts a misleading pairing.

### Use one consistent definition

This calculator sums the sales and marketing costs you provide. It cannot determine which spending caused an acquisition or distinguish paid from organic acquisition. Compare periods only when costs and customer definitions are consistent.
